Google Ads 101: How To Use Google Ads To Get Patients

Google knows everything. We turn to the almighty Google machine to give us the answer when we have a problem. Your potential patients are doing the same thing. There are folks out there searching “Miami MedSpa” and “New York Botox” as we speak. If you aren’t visible on search, those dollars are dancing off to someone else’s business.

The good news, you can make yourself visible with a few simple steps using Google Ads. If you haven’t read our article on local search for medspas, go back and read that before moving forward. Having your local profile will help your Google Ads. Once that’s done, you’re ready to grab a little immediate gratification using Google Ads.

Here’s a tutorial on how to get started with Google Ads for local advertising:

  1. Create a Google Ads account: Go to the Google Ads website (ads.google.com) and sign up for a new account. You will need to provide your business information and billing details.
  2. Set up your campaign: Create a new campaign and select “Search” as the campaign type. This will allow you to create ads that appear in Google search results.
  3. Target your location: Under the “Settings” tab, select “Locations” and enter the area or areas where you want your ads to be shown. You can target specific cities, regions, or even neighborhoods. It’s best to start small and expand. The more focused the better you can make your ad.
  4. Create your ad: Write an ad that sings to your local audience. Make sure to include your business name and location in the ad. Pepper the ad with keywords that people are searching so they know your ad is the one they need.
  5. Choose keywords: Choose keywords that are relevant to your business and the products or services you offer. These keywords will determine when your ad appears in search results. A keyword is simply what someone types into Google. For example, we used “Miami Medspa” as an example earlier. If you have that set as a keyword, every time someone types that phrase your ad will show.
  6. Set your budget: Decide how much you want to spend on your campaign and set a daily or total budget. Look at tools like Ubersuggest to get an idea of how much many people search for keywords each month and what the Cost Per Click (CPC) is for those keywords. This data will help you determine a budget.
  7. Launch your campaign: Once you’ve set up your campaign and ad, you can launch it and start reaching potential customers almost immediately.
  8. Monitor your campaign: Keep an eye on your campaign’s performance by checking the metrics like click-through rates, conversion rates, and budget. Make adjustments as needed to optimize your campaign’s performance.

Google Ads can be a fantastic tool for the medical aesthetics industry. You have an opportunity to meet your potential patients when they’re in a moment of need searching for a solution. Follow the steps above and start testing. You won’t nail everything the first try, but the sooner you start the faster you’ll have data to tweak and adjust. Eventually, you’ll zero in on what your perfect patients are searching.
